CropsData's flagship product, Agriculture Management Information System [AMIS], is a web-based data collection and reporting system designed with the needs of agriculture industries everywhere in mind, with emphasis on compliance with regulations and social repsonsibility. AMIS forms the foundation for a range of CropsData products and services.
AMIS-Tobacco provides the tobacco industry with an accurate, independent and transparent information system which records and reports tobacco crop production activities throughout the crop cycle. Starting with the registration of farmers at the beginning of each season and following through to sales of cured product to the multinational buyers, every input is recorded, every bale is accounted for. AMIS-Tobacco enables tracing of agricultural inputs and bales of tobacco to individual farmer. Reports are available on demand from the web-based system, and new reports are added regularly as AMIS-Tobacco adapts to meet the changing and increasing needs of the tobacco industry.
AMIS-Agronomy provides tobacco buyers with the tools to demonstrate their farmers' compliance with ever stricter international regulations. AMIS-Agronomy is fully integrated with AMIS-Tobacco, and extends the farmer record with information collected from visits to, observations of and interviews with those farmers. GAP and SR(T)P topics are covered comprehensively, and include measurables in farmer training, pest and disease scouting, application of crop protection agents, and child labor.
AMIS-Connect enables timely delivery of information to farmers through their mobile phones. Farmers can query AMIS-Tobacco for the lists of tobacco prices by variety and grade, the table of available inputs, and their own to-date statement balances showing the totals of inputs received and tobacco sold. Stakeholders can broadcast information to their contracted farmers through a Communication Center accessed through AMIS-Tobacco. Agronomy departments can send training schedules or weather notices. Unions can broadcast reminders to be vigilant in keeping NTRM out of their bales.
